A Birthday Gift for Jody
Hey everyone, Kristine here. Jody left me the keys to her blog while she was gone. I threatened to have a party, but I think I’ve behaved pretty well so far.
I wanted to let you all in on a little secret, which may not be so secret. Anyway, the news is this, Jody’s birthday is tomorrow. Since she’s gone, and I’m in control of her blog, I wanted to take this opportunity to ask you all to help me with a little birthday surprise for her.
Jody does a lot for the outdoor community. She’s always willing to help other bloggers, she’s a huge supporter of the Outdoor Bloggers Summit and all the causes and sites that mean a lot to her fellow bloggers. In recognition of that, and because it’s her birthday tomorrow, I thought it would be nice if those of us who read her blog take a moment to tell her what she means to us.
So, in honor of Jody’s birthday, I’m asking you to leave a comment and let Jody know why you enjoy her blog. If she’s taught you something tell her that. If she’s made you laugh or made you cry, let her know. If she’s the sort of role model you’d like your non-hunting spouse to emulate, tell her that as well. It doesn’t have to be long and it doesn’t need to be terribly eloquent, it just needs to be sincere.
I’ll even start things off. I read The Hunter’s Wife daily because Jody makes me laugh. She has a wicked sense of humor and a great way with a funny story. I also admire her attitude toward hunting and living with a hunter. I hope, should I ever meet Mr. Right, if he had a passion that I didn’t necessarily share, I would be as understanding. Finally, Jody is a great supporter of other bloggers. Whether it’s offering advice or leaving a comment, she’s always willing to do what she is able to do.
So, that’s my list. Please leave your thoughts in the comment section. I think this will be a nice birthday gift for Jody when she gets home.

Your block rocks the hunting world, because it makes us laugh at ourselves, all the time. And you’ve been a great influence on my - every once in a while when I’m writing something for my blog, I realize I’m emulating your voice.
Congrats on your success, and have a great birthday! I hope Mark brings you lots of nice sweatshirts from Cabelas…

I’m not a hunter, married to a hunter or related to a hunter that I am aware. I just love Jody’s blog because she is so funny, witty and entertaining. She makes me laugh out loud literally.
I have been stalking her blog for quite some time now.

Happy Birthday Jody -
I love your blog because you have a way of capturing the humor in the stories you tell and bringing it out to the front. You aren’t afraid to laugh at yourself and that lets you laugh at all the other great stories you know and tell them in a way that lets us laugh too. Also you don’t put on a show for everyone trying to appear like you know everything, you’re generous, you have some great ideas and you support your fellow outdoorspeople. You know how to develop community among your readers and I think that is a great trait for a blogger.

I can’t tell you how many times I have requested that my wife read your blog, so she will know how to act as the wife of a hunter. Hunter’s are very unique and you have found a way to illustrate our interesting ways in a funny setting. We are both hooked to your blog, and we love what you do!

I’m not a hunter or married to a hunter or the daughter of a hunter either, but I do enjoy venison when I can get my hands on it and I do have so much fun reading about your adventures with your own hunter, Jody. Thanks for adding some humor to my days. And making me think about venison.

I guess I will come at it from a little different angle. I check on Jody’s blog daily because I have really enjoyed some of her fishing humor. All the other posts are great too, but, If I want to have some wit and humor to help me through a tough day of fishing or other life experience then I get online and read Jody’s blog. Her stories about fishing with a pink rod and wanting to learn to drive the boat and her fear of backing the boat up at the ramp are precious.

Ok so I’m over a month late , that’s normal for me. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! Jody ! & Thanx so much for just being here. I was very depressed early dec. while my hunter was gone & out of desperation turned on the comp. & looked up ” loving a hunter” . your site popped up & instantly was relieved to find you. Then I wrote in. & I just came back today & was so very surprised to find that not only did you respond to me but also blessed. I can’t tell you how much respect & I have for you guy’s for taking me in so quickly & caring about my problem. I am a rooky to bloggin & such so ya’ll will have to bear with me while I learn but Thank You again & HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A VERY SPECIAL WONDERFUL PERSON !!!! Happy fishing!
