New Blog Update

July 01, 2008 By: Jody Category: Blogging 4 Comments →

We were hoping to have everything complete to launch our new blog today. We still have a few minor changes and will keep you updated as to when the launch will happen.

Happy July 1st!

Special Announcement

June 26, 2008 By: Jody Category: Blogging, Deer Hunting 5 Comments →

If you haven’t joined the Outdoor Bloggers Summit, head over to their blog and found out what it’s all about.  They are a great group of people and they are currently running a series for those considering starting their own blog.  If you currently have an outdoor blog, you can contact them to be spotlighted in their OBS Blogger Spotlight.

If you haven’t read Base Camp Legends you are missing out. It’s all about their adventures in the great outdoors and is on my list of daily reads. So I have enough adventures in my own house with my own hunter but I like Tom’s style, his passion for his family, and he can be as goofy as me.

Blessed and I have been working on our new blog that will launch July 1st. I can’t tell you how exciting this has been and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. In honor of the new launch I will be holding a great give away at the new site on Tuesday, July 1st.

Arthur at Simply Outdoors is headed on vacation next week and I am honored to be one of the bloggers that will feature a guest post while he’s away. Arthur’s blog represents his passion for the outdoors and provides a lot of information on his home state of Michigan. I wouldn’t be The Hunter’s Wife if I didn’t act a little silly over there. My post title for Simply Outdoors; “Simply Outdoors with Barbies”.

Have a great day all!

A New Day - New Adventures

June 12, 2008 By: Jody Category: Blogging 4 Comments →

Mark wanted to thank all of you for your concern.  He is feeling much better but a little restless.  I thank all of you for listening to my complaining.  I even made a second trip to the pharmacy last night and I was very pleasant.  (The smacker wasn’t there.)

A few blog changes  -

Subscribe - In the upper left hand corner you can subscribe to my feed.  This is so easy to do and it helps to keep you organized and up to date with postings instead of continually checking websites to see if someone has posted.  It saves a tremendous amount of time and you really should sign up.  I use Google Reader.

Twitter - I’m really enjoying twitter and trying to mix in with the other bloggers.  I would really like to see more outdoor bloggers twittering.  If you haven’t joined, join.  It’s a great way to socialize with a wide range of bloggers.

Pages & Sidebar - My pages and sidebar widgets will be changing over the next few weeks to make it easier for those to navigate around my site.

Advertising - I’ll be offering advertising space on my sidebar which will be free to other bloggers.  If interested, you can email me at jody@thehunterswife.net.   If you don’t have a 125 x 125 advertise button, I would be willing to help you set one up.  This is what the size of the banner would look like…

And lastly,

A New Blog Site - Blessed and I are excited to announce that we’ve been working on a new blog site that will go live on July 1, 2008.  The Hunter’s Wife and A Blessed Crazy Life will still be updated daily and the new blog will be something totally different that will provide valuable information for our readers. Look for more details in the coming weeks.

Have a great day all!

A Little Change - Blog Design

June 09, 2008 By: Jody Category: Blogging 3 Comments →

I’ve changed my header. Thanks to Beth at Be Design I now have a header designed exactly how I wanted it. I found Be Design as I was twittering and come to find out Beth is from the same county. She was very helpful and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.

If you are looking for a new blog design or a header change feel free to contact them at Be Design.

Sharing Some Links

No Goofy Googler today because I wanted to share a few links…

I just love this post from Blessed called But I’m Not Finished Yet.

Tom has a great video up of Todd’s Spring Bear.

Arthur has a post up today that is hysterical. It’s called Outdoor Site Shocker about getting wild in the wild. I’m still laughing over it.

For anyone who would like to follow me on twitter click here. If you haven’t joined twitter yet, do so.

Have a great weekend everyone.

A Few Of My Favorite Blogs

May 23, 2008 By: Jody Category: Blogging 6 Comments →

There are many blogs that I enjoy reading everyday and thought I would highlight a few today:

Blessed wrote an interesting post about why she doesn’t own a T.V.

I love this post at Jakes Outdoors about taking his kids fishing.

For those who are missing deer hunting and need your fix, you can see some big bucks Jeff posted at LowCountry Hunting.

About a month ago Arthur wrote about his Shiloh Visit. I have to say this is one of my favorites.

Have a great and safe weekend everyone!

Lisa365 & The Rain Barrel

May 02, 2008 By: Jody Category: Blogging 3 Comments →

I normally post about my Goofy Googler on Friday but this week I just wanted to be different.

I will be updating my site over the weekend so don’t be surprised if you see a few little changes.  Nothing drastic, I promise.

One of the things on my list is to update my blogroll.  I do have all of my favorite outdoor bloggers but I wanted to add another category of those blogs I read often.  One of those is Lisa 365 Everyday New. Lisa blogs about something new she does everyday for a year. I love this idea for a blog. I am also loving her post on the rain barrel. Maybe I’ve been living under a rock but I’ve never heard of the rain barrel. There isn’t anyone I know that uses a rain barrel but I think it is a great idea. Especially for those who feel it is necessary to water their yard 10 times a day (Mark), or the garden, or the sidewalk, or the driveway, or the patio. We can’t have a dirty patio.

I think the rain barrel is a great alternative water source.  Thanks Lisa for sharing this great idea!

Have a great weekend everyone.
