Is It Deer Hunting Season Yet?
During the week my husband, Mark, is normally up at 3:00 a.m. and out the door by 4:00 a.m. On the weekends he will sleep in until about 5:00 a.m. Each day he jumps up, takes a shower and sings or hums his favorite Marine song from the beginning of his shower until he is fully dressed and puts his shoes on. Then in a split second he will decide what he needs to get done.
This past Saturday he was up at 5:00, did stuff around the house and was out the door pulling the boat in the garage to get it ready for our fishing trip in April. I was then forced to get up. I cleaned the house, showered, and did some running around. When I got back home Mark was finished with the boat and was in the yard raking and putting fertilizer down. If you notice in the Easter photo post, you will see a bit of snow on the ground yet my husband has the need to fertilize.
At about 4:00 pm I decided I wanted to take about a 1/2 hour nap. (I have sleep issues.) Within 10 minutes Mark came in the house and started getting dinner ready. This was the fuel to my outburst. I just can’t understand why he can’t just sit and be quiet. He can’t ever just sit and relax. He is in the yard, the garage, snowing blowing the neighborhood, doing laundry, vacuuming, doing dishes, cleaning carpets, mopping.
It makes me nuts! My friends and family members say I should be thankful. And I am. I am very appreciative for all that Mark does. But for the love of deer can he just take a break. He makes me tired.
Why isn’t hunting season year round? I need a break.

The days I stay home during hunting season are my most productive! When my husband is home it seems like I can’t get anything done - I’ll start cleaning the bathroom and before I’m done with the tub he’s hollering for me to come see something, come help with something, just to see what I’m doing…. and it takes a whole day to clean 1 bathroom - drives me crazy! But at least my husband talks to me about work, about what he’s doing and etc…. I hear so many women complain that their husbands don’t talk to them at all.

I’m one of those people who needs her peace and quiet too. I can identify with wanting a few minutes to yourself.
Maybe you should get him interested in shooting turkeys.

Kristine, it isn’t our turkey season yet.

Your entry just made me laugh out loud.
I can understand how his restlessness can drive you nuts! Mine will turn on the tv and that will be his day. It’s horrible. But he’s in shape still, playing sports every now and then. TV is just a time waster.
I hope he can relax! Find something you can both do while sitting down! How about a board game?

I so can relate to Mark and I’m sure my wife can relate to you. I so have a hard time sitting down and I always want to be doing something, anything, other than sitting and watching “America’s Next Top Model”. Some of us guys are busy bodies and we just need to be doing something all the time.
I do sit every once in awhile and the wife just loves that. It is the one opportunity where she doesn’t have to tell me to just relax every 5 minutes:):):):):):)

Blessed, I don’t think it is any season right now.
Lisa, we do a lot together but on a normal day he makes me tired watching him let alone trying to keep up with him.
Arthur, as I tell Mark, sometimes us wives are more important then the grass.

My Hubby has airplanes on the brain. He is on several yahoo club lists, belongs to the Replica Fighters Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Weighs in on building techniques and tips. Works on his own project and is stuck to his computer when he isn’t doing those things. He is a great guy…goes to work, but my plans are to learn a new skill and get a puppy.
