One of the most beautiful places to drive is in Lexington, Kentucky. There is a road there, which I can’t remember the name of, that has handmade stone fences, and in the background are the lovely hills and rolling green pastures filled with gorgeous thoroughbreds! Love it there.

You have the best giveaways, Jody!
The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is my Aunt and Uncle’s home on a small lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There’s only about four or five homes on the lake. It’s so quiet you can hear a door slam on the other side of the lake. There are deer and chipmunks and squirrels and loons and a bald eagle or two to watch. The lake steams in the mornings and is often so still in the evenings it’s like looking into a mirror. When you sit on the dock all you hear is the call of the birds and the lapping of the small waves against the short. It’s the very definition of serenity.

The Linville Falls located in the Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful and includes a nice little hike into the viewing site for the falls. Anytime you drive the Blue Ridge Parkway this time of year you will be blessed with the fall foliage beauty. Visiting the falls is only a bonus. Another place that is beautiful any time of year is Cades Cove in Tennessee.

I would have to say Gettysburg PA. We went to Gettysburg on a vacation once and did a early morning tour of the main battle field and it was indescribable. Hard to put into words but it made us go back the next two years in a row for vacation.
Beautiful country and everyone is so nice and hospitable, a lot of history to be seen.

I love going to Cades Cove in TN. It is beautiful in the smokey mountains. I love going in the fall when the leaves are changing. It always brings be back to my childhood going to my grandparents house in the smokies and spending time with them at their house. They were the most frugal people I know. wished they were still here to teach me a thing or two.

The most beautiful place I have been is the place I go every morning: my son’s bedroom. My six-month-old son usually flips himself to his belly during the night so when he wakes up in the morning, he wiggles and squirms and begins to lift his head so that he can double-check that it really is morning. I usually make my way into his room when I hear his wiggles and squirms thus I am often present when he stretches his neck and begins peaking around. His face is often branded by the creases in the sheet, and his eyes are still puffy from a hard slumber. When he finally stretches his neck around far enough to see my face, he lights up and drops his head as if he is so happy to see his mommy that he can’t even stand it. I am blessed to experience his simple delight every morning - it is a beautiful start to my day.

MAUI, I highly reccommend going. The best beach is where the sea turtles feed, you can snorkel and be a few feet away from a 400 pound turtle and then follow it around. Everywhere you go there is beauty, whether you are in the ocean snorkeling, hiking in the mountains or just bumming around in the valleys.

Two images come to mind.
The first is from last winter when we went snowboarding in Breckenridge, Colorado. I remember standing at the top of the mountain staring out at the blue skies, tress and snowpack, scared to death to actually get on my snowboard. The view was breath-taking.
The other is when we went to a friend’s vacation home in Door County a few years ago. It was right on Lake Michigan. The first night we arrived right when the moon was rising over the lake — a gorgeous Hunter’s Moon that brightly reflected off the lake and the yellow color in the leaves.

For myself I would have to say that one place to hold the spot closest in my heart are the Warren Dunes in Michigan. I have been going there since I was a small child. My first memories are laying up higher in the sand dunes close to the house and peering down at my my mother and her friends through the reeds, quietly watching and listening, lost in my own fantasy world. However as I grew up and explored more I was always finding something new. For instance, during fourth of July if you walk down the beach you will find hundreds of lit campfires with friendly people celebrating. During the day there is the clay creek to walk, Old Baldy to climb and the End of the World to jump off of. In town you can always find the best fresh fruit stands or you could go down to the Swedish Village area for ice cream. Its not super fancy, but everyone I bring always loves it. Once when I took my boyfriend there it ended up raining. It ended up being the most romantic date we have had because all the beach goers left and the water was so beautiful being rippled by the rain. Its great for romance, family, children, and friends. I really cannot imagine a more lovely spot.

We hiked in the mountains of Turkey for hours, till we reached the top of a flat peak and saw a clear, cold mountain lake. I’ll never forget it. God taught me a lesson on the hike, too, that if I just keep on chugging, I’ll reach the goal and it will be amazingly worth it.

Colorado is probably the most beautiful place I’ve visited. We went to Estes Park one year when they had their first snowfall and our hotel had a stream that ran outside our balcony and curved around the building. It was so pretty with that fresh snow and the water flowing. I love Colorado, but their winters are probably too cold for me.

The most beautiful place I have ever been is Lake Placid, NY. We stayed in a beautiful old estate from the camp era. The front of the house faced the water, the house had several outside fireplaces with woolrich blankets waiting in the rocking chairs, and the rooms had a all the fixings for a roaring fire. It was relaxing and wonderful and shared it all with my very own hunter.

The most beautiful place I have ever been is Myrtle Beach, SC, my husband and I went there for our honeymoon and it was perfect. The water was so beautiful along with the gorgeous beaches. We spent hours walking up and down the beach just enjoying God’s wonderful creations. At night we slept with the glass door of our condo open listening to the crashing waves.

Hi Jody,
Thanks for the chance to win! What a generous giveaway, for sure!
I lived for a short time in the Rocky Mountains and it was gorgeous, but I have to say that to me, the most beautiful place is home, the Lancaster County, PA area. There is nothing like driving through the rolling hills and seeing miles and miles of farmland and simple living with all the wildlife and beautiful change of seasons!
On a hunting note…
Does having 1/2 an unprocessed deer in the fridge and more shotguns under the bed than you can shake a stick at quality me as being a “hunter’s wife”? hehe
Thanks again!

The beautiful colors of the trees reflecting off the surface of the water is just breathtaking!! If I were to win the giveaway, I would take my hubby up there for some “alone” time!!

I am a sucker for any wooded mountain area. I absolutely fall in love with the green trees, the incline of the hills, the rocky drop-offs, and the water creeks/fall/lakes. Therefore, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited (and hope to one day live) is anywhere in the north Georgia area. Stunning.

The most beautiful place I have ever been is in the wilds of Alaska. It felt firghtening at first and then exhilerating to realize how wild and remote some areas are. The scenery was magnificent; I saw wildlife I had only ever seen in pictures; it was one of best experiences of my life.

The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is Aldie Mountain, where I lived in a renovated one-room schoolhouse as a child. This ‘mountain’ is actually more of a big hill at the foot of the Blue Ridge in Loudoun County, VA. It had everything a kid could want: streams, ponds, natural springs, abundant wildlife and thousands of acres of woodlands to roam. And in those days, there weren’t all the ‘no trespassing signs’ cluttering up the view.
Aldie Mountain in those days was a very poor area, but somehow even the dirt-floor shacks appear as beautiful sights in my memories.
The Aldie Mountain of today looks much different, but it will always be the most beautiful place on Earth to me.

The most beautiful place I have ever been is the Dominican Republic. My husband and I went on vacation a few years ago and I remember watching the sunset from a jacuzzi built into the rock cliff and seeing the mountains far off on the other side of the beach we were on. It was breathtaking.

The most beautiful scene I’ve seen recently would have to be snorkeling Molokini off Maui. The water is a gorgeous blue, the fish bright brilliant colors of all kind and it butts up against a huge mountain with lots of green shrubbery. I will never forget the few minutes I spent there, realizing that it was one of the most beautiful places God has ever created!

About 20-50 feet underwater off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico. Coral, fish, crystal clear blue water and an ever present calmness. You forget that there is noise from cars, people, machines, etc! The fish, turtles, and rays glide past you with such grace!!

A not-so-quiet island in the Bahamas. A lot of cruiseships stop for “meal” - but we found a quiet spot on the beach, the water was soooo clear. It was where they filmed Gilligan’s Island… if it weren’t for the 20,000 other people, I could have spent a whole week on that beach.
