It’s A Wonderful Life-Being Married To A Hunter
Seeing that I’ve been posting some great gift ideas for this Christmas I was reminded of something I wrote last December and thought I would re-post…
All I Want For Christmas… One of my gifts…
In October, Cabelas opened its new store about 2 miles from our house. Can you guess where the majority of my gifts came from? Yep. One of those gifts was a soft air gun that shoots colored 6 mm BB’s. So this evening Mark setup a target for me downstairs to have target practice. I was actually excited about it. Mark, of course, had to test it out. After his 500th round, I got a turn.

After my 1st round, he had to sight it in. Then changed the sight, then sight it in again. Then move the target, then adjust the target. Then he had to test it out again. After his 600th round, I got a turn.

After my 2nd round, he suggested we clean up the mess. He was done with target practice.
More gifts…
At Mark’s Mom’s house it was time to open gifts. I sat down next to my Mother-In-Law as she would open a present then I opened a present. Now remember, all of Mark’s brother’s hunt and he has no sisters. She opens a gift from son #4, Kenny. Its a sweater from Cabelas. My turn. To Jody from Mark. Oh look, a zip up sweater from Cabelas. Mother-In-Law’s turn. Another sweater from son #4 from Cabelas. My turn. Oh look, a long sleeve shirt from Cabelas from Mark. She looked at me smiling with a proud look on her face probably thinking how wonderful her sons are. I looked at her with a smile, gritting my teeth, thinking I should have bought Mark a sleeping bag from Cabelas so he could use it when he spends the night here tonight.
Oh what memories … being married to a hunter.

It is tough being married to a breed such as ours. It is sooo worth it though:)
The soft air pistol looks good. I say it fits you Jody even if you only did get to shoot it a couple of times:)

Haha! Yeah, like Arthur said, it’s tough being married to us folk, but it is worth it…we just haven’t figured out why! It could be worse - my dad, the romantic devil that he is, bought my mom one year for her birthday a calf puller and a box of chocolates! No joke! I might have to blog about that one!

Wow you look like one of Charlies Angels in that picture! If we lived near Cabelas, I would NEVER see my hunter!

It is fun to bring the memories of Christmas past back. Hope Mark is able to break out of his habit to shop at Cabela’s this year for you…;) So, have you had your gun out since then?

Marky, I did want to be a Charlies Angel.
CDGardens, I’ve had target practice a few times since. Maybe I will post my target after pictures.

You’ll be finding those bb’s in your house for years, even if you never shoot the gun again.

I LOVE Cabela’s.. I was blessed to live in a town that opened one up about 6 years ago now. I would live there if they would only let me.
I am new to your blog… I love it, I’m engaged to an outdoorsman and his brother has the hunting itch even worse than my Red. He leaves for weeks at a time to go elk hunting or whatnot. I am finding that I can relate to your blog quite a bit!
Keep up the wonderful writing! I’ll be back for more!
