Planting Our Flowers
In our weather zone it is usually the rule of thumb to wait until after Mother’s Day to plant. Mother’s Day isn’t until this Sunday but seeing that it was a beautiful weekend we decided to go ahead and do some planting.
We added some perennials to a few of our boxes we have along the back of our fence.

We added a few more perennials in our landscaping on the side of our house.

We also planted our vegetable garden and I will be posting about that this week as well.
I have yet to purchase our annuals for our privacy fence and for my baskets. Hopefully we will have the same beautiful weather this coming weekend as we did this past weekend.
Have any of you started your planting?
P.S. - I ended up with a blister and 2 splinters. One of which I can’t get out. Mark, of course, has the green thumb and I, of course, have the red finger.

That’s one reason I’m getting itchy to buy a place. I really want to have a garden and flowers. Guess I need to get on that.

My wife did not put in a garden this year, and she is very upset about it. She really enjoyed cooking all of the fresh stuff that came out of it.
Hopefully she will have more time for it next year, but until then we will just have to live vicariously through your planting.

We haven’t planted yet, but we were just looking at the yard yesterday and deciding what we want to do with it. Last year we had to do a sewer replacement so the yard got dug up. The grass is great now, but now we need to plant some flowers along side the house and get it looking good again. Hopefully that will happen soon.
The red finger/green thumb part made me laugh out loud. I hate gardening, but I have to do it. Wife’s orders.

I live in NE Oklahoma and I just finished all my planting. I had some new landscaping to work on this year. I’ve posted pics on my blog.
Your landscaping is beautiful!! I love how clean everything looks.

Okay, I am officially jealous.
This weekend I experienced, in this order, rain, rain, sleet, rain, cold, colder, rain, somewhat cold, and finally sun…on the drive into work.

Yes, FINALLY we’ve been able to get out and plant some seeds - however, we’ll probably have to cover them a few nights now and then. Still dipping pretty low at night on occasion here. We got a small garden started indoors that will hopefully be ready for transplanting in the next few weeks. We both love gardening so my wife and I were pretty excited to finally be able to get out this last weekend.

Blessed, Mark does most of the planting - I take care of the easy ones.
Kris, our planters are about 5 years old and we have had many compliments. They really are nice.
Kristine, it really is nice to walk to your back yard for a tomato.
Beth, I am hoping we don’t have any more frost.
Jeff, if you lived closer you could stop by and pick some. Our families enjoy our garden as well.
Arthur, hope you get to planting soon. I know it all depends on the weather. I will be posting about the size of our garden and what we planted in the next couple of days.
DeeBee, I took a look at your pictures on your blog and your landscaping looks great and very neat as well.
Michelle, I feel for you. We were lucky to have great weather this past weekend.
GP, thanks for the visit and good luck with your planting.
Tom, Mark and I tried to grow seeds indoors and it just didn’t seem to work. I hope you don’t get any more frost as well.

Looks really nice Jody! So fun to have some different plant sizes,
textures, and color etc…etc…
Working on hardening off my plants. Brought them inside tonight so the ground hog and rabbits wouldn’t feast. They have been hovering around. Trail camera going off behind the house . I’m sure the rabbits are setting it off since they have been showing up at all hours of the night and early morning.
