<description>I still have a hard time spotting deer.....whenever I see a jack rabbitt I think it is a buck...until it hops away!
My husband can spot a deer (and a rattlesnake) I swear from a mile away!

<description>My wife is always trying to spot more deer/animals/birds than I do. I think that is why she always lets me drive...

<description>:) I can relate to Mark - and I think my wife can relate to you. She doesn't think I'm fit for driving through deer or elk country because she says I don't pay enough attention to the road...which is nonsense, I keep one eye strictly on the white line and the other scans the hills. I see nothing wrong with that.

<description>I thought for a minute you had plucked your story right out of my head! Very funny, and it's nice to see other wives go through the same thing.

We live on the coast up in BC, Canada, where duck hunting is a big part of our community. So in addition to nearly getting my nose swiped off when hubby's arm comes across to point out an antlered beast off to the side of the road, he 'treats' me to his prowess on the duck call at regular intervals.

When I finally pleaded the case for my hearing and the hearing our our kids (those calls are LOUD), he stopped doing this in the truck. Now he practices in the garage, but occasionally still surprises us in the house. Last time, he had to practically peel me off the ceiling when he startled me with his new Canada Goose rendition - and he did so with the glee usually reserved for 8 year old boys.

Men - gotta luv em.

<description>Maybe there's a latent hunter inside me waiting to get out, because I love spotting deer along the road. It probably has more to do with the fact that I live in an urban area and sighting any wildlife gets me excited.

<description>It was a day to write on the calendar when I spotted more deer than my husband did on a road trip to see his family... After that I gave up, I proved that I can do it - now I just let him show them to me :)

<description>My Dad does this too. I'll be innocently sitting there and all of the sudden he'll be pointing out a deer or something. I don't know how he sees them. I guess maybe hunters are just more attuned to movement or something.

This made me laugh. Great story.

<description>That is funny Jody. I guess Mark just has more patient then you. Or maybe it is just because he had to stay awake because he was driving:):):)</description>

<description>LOL..Oh Jody I can painfully relate to this story!!
My hunter is gifted ( I guess that is what I would call it) with being able to call many many animals with just his mouth.
So we may be riding down a road in deep conversation, and I will see him open his window and call a hawk, or ground hog, or turkey..whatever the mood, or animal is.
Inside, we listen to deer grunting, snorting, and turkey ALL year long!
