Road Trip - I Need Your Help
While at our Easter gathering Sunday, our family decided we wanted to do a long weekend road trip. We are looking for suggestions for somewhere to enjoy the following:
- Older brother and son: Enjoy golfing, fishing, horseback riding.
- Older brother’s daughter: Enjoys music and boat rides.
- Other older brothers daughter: Enjoys ummm boys (what else is there at 18.)
- Older sister and daughter: Enjoys the beach and shopping.
- Younger sister: Bingo. B10
- Younger sister’s daughter: Enjoys the beach and parties.
- Younger sister’s daughter’s daughter: Enjoys all things princess.
- Younger sister’s son: Enjoys skateboarding.
- Mother (aka Gram aka Great-Gram): Enjoys people watching, the beach and being with her kids, grandkids and great-grand daughter.
- Father: Will probably stay home with the dog.
- Me: I am game for just about anything and try to avoid bugs.
- Mark: Anyone like to take a guess? Hunting and fishing period.
Anyone have any suggestions of somewhere that we all will find things to do that we enjoy? We are looking to rent a cabin that will fit 13-15. Memo: bring extra beer and headphones.
Thanks everyone for your help.

I wish had a suggestion, but I truly don’t.

I’d stay home with Pops…..where it will be lovely and quiet. We’d drink some beer and BBQ some chicken…and kick back and watch the grass grow.

Hmmm…. good question - there are a lot of interests to try to fit into 1 weekend! Branson, MO is an option though - shopping, fishing, boat rides, music, crowds to watch - it might work! There are some neat/pretty places to trout fish out there.

Vee, there is no staying home. If my Dad didn’t have a sick dog he would be the first one in the car.
Rex, I can’t handle the whole crowd either but I will have to find some sort of sedation.
Blessed, I have never been to Branson but I know one of my sisters has. She is sun bathing it up in Florida for Easter break and wasn’t a part of our plans. I will have to see what she thinks when she gets back.

Branson is a lot of fun. Gram would certainly love it. Shows, go-karts, pools. Love it there!!! And I have connections to Big Cedar Lodge so the brothers and nephews would be set too. Great suggestion Blessed!!

Older sis (aka cheer Mom) - You normally go to Florida and I was checking to see if you are reading my blog while you are away because I knew you would correct me.

When we went to Branson a couple of years ago we found a cabin to stay in very reasonably and my hubby and I went trout fishing behind the cabin before everyone else got up and then we did Silver Dollar City, Go Karts and whatever else (no shopping - it just wasn’t right!) We picked up a couple of evening shows too. The worst part is the traffic. The neatest part was when we went to the Conservation Department’s trout place out there (can’t think of what it is really called) they had rearing ponds you could look at and everything - Hubby and the buddy we were with did some fly fishing in the river there too.
