The Hunter’s Wife Bio
For some time I’ve been promising Othmar at Outdoors With Othmar Vohringer and Jeff at LowCountry Hunting that I would post about my enjoyment outside of work. As both of them have noticed I have been putting this off for over 2 months. And it isn’t because I just don’t want to it is because I just can’t. I just can’t bring myself to write about me and only me. I have spent many hours on this post and either erase it or leave it in my handy drafts file.
It’s easy to say what I enjoy such as my family, friends, fishing, music, books, etc. But it just doesn’t seem to be the right post that I want to share with everyone. I want this post to have feeling and I’m just not feeling it.
So I leave you with this, I will one day complete it. In the meantime, if there is something you would like to know about me feel free to ask.

Some people feel comfortable writing about themselves and others don’t. If it doesn’t feel right to you, don’t do it.

I have to laugh because I went through the exact same thing while trying to write mine… and it took me almost 2 months as well. It is just very difficult to condense who you are in to a single post, even if it is a llllloooonnnnnggggg one! And I too kept starting over.
Finally I managed to get a basic outline done, and then filled it in. However I sat on it for while so that I could continually refine it. And eventually it came together. So I hope that you will just keep picking away at it until you feel that it comes CLOSE to capturing who you are and what you have done. But no hurry; we will be here when you finish…
And I am sorry that I didn’t sign up for the Survivor contest, but until they put those people on an island with NOTHING except a bell to ring when they can’t take it anymore (like the Navy SEALs test), I refuse to watch.
My wife and I’s dark secret is that we love Big Brother. Since it is totally not us, we just love to watch the backstabbing, lying, etc. Any chance for a contest for that one???

Jeff, yours came together well.
And I forgot Big Brother was suppose to start last night. I completely forgot about it. We watch as well but thought a lot of the outdoors people would like a Survivor contest rather then Big Brother. Next time I will take a vote.

I still keep reading the site whether you write that post or whether you don’t. Don’t sweat it!

Yeh…I can’t watch Survivor either.. until the rich kids actually have to forage, even in a city, without money, food or a roof…well, not pitying them. Been there, done that..lived on packets of ketchup and mustard too many days to even look at the stuff now.. scrounged for jobs when there were none, just to eat… actually stole food from time to time.. not too proud to steal..but too proud and too stupid to collect welfare.
I don’t thin it is too difficult to write a bio …BUT.. and big but, ….it IS difficult to get across exactly what you want to say… and make it come out how you want people to understand it. Without gestures, voice intonation, facial expressions… just not the same is it? How can they know us or appreciate us if they can’t see and hear us? Really hard to put across your own sense of humour too… some folks just don’t get it. Different regions of the country and the world don’t see humour in the same things at all.
I just wanted to give you a hint about cooking … if you do decide to give it a try again sometime… … just do one thing. Your attempt at a huge family gathering type of thing would have daunted many an experienced cook, believe me. Just make one dish and concentrate on that. Read the recipe… use measurements..and it will likely be perfect. It is all a matter of doing it for a bit to get comfortable with things.
I have a question… …. do you have any hobbies that don’t relate to outdoor activities? ? ..

Thanks Arthur.
Vee, I’m sorry to hear you had a difficult time at one point. It is sad to see things like that happen.
As for cooking, shhhh … I like it just how it is.
Do I have any hobbies? My hobby is the computer. I love my computer!

I had two thoughts to add.
First I love your little description on the left nav under your avatar. That’s very cute. I never noticed it before.
Second, I find when I sit down to write a straight out bio I have trouble too. I either feeling like I’m sounding all puffed up about my accomplishments or it is boring. I find I do better when I start writing about a subject and then bring in how that subject ties to me personally. That might work for you too.

Thanks Kristine.
I do add bits and pieces about me in my post. Very flattering ones such as my boobs won’t sag at 60, my bigger derriere, my change of hair color.

Don’t worry about it Jody. There is no law that says you must write about yourself. I know exactly what you mean. I am the same, the “about me” page for my new website is still blank. Every time I want to it I feel odd about it.

I think a bio is tricky.. maybe you could do snippets.. different aspects of you?
We know you don’t like cracking gum or popguns! LOL
