The Passion of Hunting
Those of you who are faithful readers know how passionate Mark is about hunting and it runs in the family. Mark’s Dad Joe, was a hunter and Mark’s 3 brothers, Joe Jr., Steve and Kenny. They all hunt. I wonder if they’d had a sister if she would have been a hunter as well?
They are all your typical outdoors kind of guys. They all hunt deer, have been to Canada bear hunting, Tennessee boar hunting, and fish on a regular basis. I would say they all are very passionate outdoorsmen. During hunting season, they are all together hunting their hunt. They each have a story to tell the other. What they saw, what they thought they saw, what they wished they saw, you know how it goes. If one kills a buck, the others head out to try and help find it and bring it in.
Since I have been doing my blog, I can see the passion in those that have their own hunting blogs. They have their own stories to tell and memories to keep. They mount their animals with pride. It makes me realize they do not hunt to kill but kill for the hunt. They are hunters, true hunters that have a passion for hunting. A passion unlike no other.

Jody, I think you got it exactly right. I don’t hunt, yet, but I’ve certainly come to understand hunters better since I started reading all the great outdoor blogs out there. Reading all that great information really shows you there is a lot more thought and a lot more passion, as well as compassion, that goes into hunting than most people think.

Ok, the manly men told me they don’t need eachother to help bring their deer in. I stated that just to make a point they are always there helping eachother out. Now when they get that 18 point 350 lb buck (lol) they better not help eachother bring it in.

When I went hunting with my husband, my brother came to help out if there was a kill made. I tagged along watching and laughing, as they spent most their time talking out strategies, listening, calling…perfecting their calls, talking about the wind and yards and lay out of the land. I now realize His hunting is more is fun, not killing…but the hunt. Its a game to him. He loves it.

It is funny to hear all their plans. I hardly ever give it much thought other then to think Mark is just sitting in his deer stand for 10 hours.
