The Things We Do For Our Hunter
This past weekend my hunter was going squirrel hunting and I had planned on doing some running around. I was asked by my hunter to please stop at his favorite outdoor sports shop and pick him up a pair of camouflage boots they had on sale. After mumbling behind his back I headed off to get his camouflage boots.
The Hunter’s Wife: Do you have these boots in a size 11?
Salesman: Let me go check in back.
The Hunter’s Wife: Hurry please. Thank you. (Hurry so I can get out of here.)
Salesman: Here you go. Would you like to try them on?
The Hunter’s Wife who doesn’t hunt: Do you see these feet? Do they look like a size 11? Do I look like I wear camouflage?
Salesman: I’m so sorry. We do get a lot of female hunters here and I just assumed they were for you. I thought 11 was a little big for you.
The Hunter’s Wife: Well I swear they are for my husband and I only wear a size 9.
Cashier: Wow these are some big boots.
The Hunter’s Wife: For the love of deer!

Oooh, my - what a nice look you gave your hubby. I wonder if he got the picture? I’ve gotten that look from my wife on occasion - I’ve yet to really figure out what it means. I think it means, “yes, I did as you asked because I love you and I will do anything to make you happy.” Or something like that. I’m not good at reading the signs.

Ya know, as frustrating as it was, I’m glad he didn’t do the opposite and automatically assume they were for your husband.
It is still kinda funny though.

Jody & Tom, my husband still doesn’t know what that look means either… even when I tell him what it means he doesn’t seem to comprehend

You’re a good woman Jody, and I’m sure Mark appreciates what you did for him.
If you wanted to get him to repay the favor, you could send him to the store to pick up some products of a feminine nature. I’ve been told by reliable sources that sort of thing embarrasses the heck out of a guy.
